Robin Koerner is a member of the Faculty Network of the Foundation of Economic Education, as well as a political and economic commentator for the Huffington Post, Independent Voter Network, and other outlets. He holds graduate degrees in both Physics and the Philosophy of Science from the University of Cambridge (U.K.). He founded WatchingAmerica.com, an organization of over 200 volunteers that translates and posts in English views about the USA from all over the world. Robin may be best known for having coined the term "Blue Republican" to refer to liberals and independents who joined the GOP to support Ron Paul’s bid for the presidency in 2012 (and, in so doing, launching the largest coalition that existed for that candidate). Robin’s current work as the author of the book If You Can Keep It and as a trainer and a consultant focuses on bringing people together across political divisions, with a view to winning supporters for good causes, rather than just arguments. He is driven by the conviction that more unites us as people and as Americans than divides us as partisans, and if we can find common ground and understand the forces that really drive political change, then “We the People” will be able to do what the Founders implored us to do – maintain our natural rights against power and its abuse. As he says, people and their well-being are the only legitimate ends of politics. British born, he recently became a citizen of the USA.

Love and Sales: The Thankless Art of Political Persuasion

As I take up invitations around the country to discuss the Blue Republican idea, I am learning a great deal about how our minds are opened and even changed when it comes to politics. In a slight departure from my usual topics, I offer the following … [Read more...]

Paradigm Lost: Why the rEVOLution Has Not Been Televised

To those who care about such things, the silence of the media about the extraordinary events around Ron Paul's campaign is deafening. Some see conspiracy. I don't. I see the expected reaction to a paradigm shift -- a complete change in the concepts … [Read more...]

Orthodoxy: Liberty’s Other Enemy

I am typing this in Miami, where I have had the privilege of sharing ideas of liberty with some new Americans who know more of its antithesis than almost anyone on this Continent -- Cuban exiles of Castro's regime. One of them, Normando, has spent … [Read more...]

The USA Has a Monarchy. Let It Have a Glorious Revolution

This year marks the 1,000th anniversary of political liberty. When the United States began, the tradition in which it was founded was already 762 years old. As I wrote recently in celebration of this magnificent anniversary, those who would protect … [Read more...]

Thirteen Years After 9/11: Let’s End the Politics of Fear

Since 9/11, it seems that the American Left and the American Right have agreed on something of profound importance: We're scared. The politics of the last 12 years have been the politics of fear. Because of fear that one of us is a terrorist, we've … [Read more...]

In Times of Tyranny, Democracy Is Liberty’s Friend

At many times in the history of the Anglo people, the abuses of liberty by Power (capitalized to indicate the official power of the centralized State and those close to it) have produced such resistance by enough normal men and women who felt their … [Read more...]

Libertarian Purists: Libertarian on Everything — Except Liberty

The American Liberty movement is no longer nascent. Its mainstreaming is under way, as evidenced by this article in the New York Times -- the paper that (almost) defines the American mainstream -- about the impact of liberty-focused activists on the … [Read more...]
